Lt. General (Retired) Harold G. "Hal" Moore, has been named Honorary National Chairman of a nationwide campaign to support the on-going work of The American Citizenship Trust and The American Village. The gala event took place on February 15, 2010, at Liberty Hall on the campus of The American Village. The new Liberty Hall Building was dedicated and named for General Moore. He first came to national prominence for his brave leadership in Vietnam at The Battle of Ia Drang.

In attendance at the event was General George W. Casey, Jr., United States Army Chief of Staff who received The American Citizenship Trust Award. Other prominent guests included The Honorable Dirk Kempthorne, former United States Secretary of the Interior and Mary Bomar, former Director of The National Park Service.
